only a few minutes...

before I either lose my very low signal internet connection or Aidan wakes up from his nap. We're down in North Wildwood on vacation! Aidan and I are having an awesome time and can't wait for Sean to get back down here in a couple of days. I'm sort of going through internet withdraw, but having a good time despite it. I had over 75 emails, with only a few actually being meaningful of course. But, I haven't been able to be on here or anywhere else which stinks. Anyway, enough of the babble. Back to some fresh air! I can't wait to post all of the pictures from our trip...Aidan loves the water and the sand. So far he hasn't tried to eat it.

I just uploaded 232 pictures onto snapfish! Then I took the time to put some on Facebook and Aidan's Totsites page. Now I realize it's 1:12am and I actually have to work tomorrow (just a few meetings, but still). Not only do I have to work but I have to pack everything for the shore. Not cool. I guess now's a good time to go to bed!

My thoughts on life right now:
Pictures capture so many things.
I'm awake now, but I'm sure I'll be super tired when my alarm goes off.

kisses and high fives

I longed for the day that I would get a kiss from my own child, and finally the day came. I've always kissed Aidan...all day. The poor kid probably feels smothered, but I just love those cheeks!!! Well a couple of weeks ago he started giving kisses. It's a completely different feeling to be kissed by him rather than just kiss him. I guess it's a feeling that you don't really know until you experience it. It is one of the most adorable things in the world. A few times he's just given the kisses, but usually if he's asked or told to give kisses then he will, and he'll want to kiss just about everyone in the room. ADORABLE.

Also, his daddy taught him how to give high fives. He's so proud of himself (Sean, not Aidan). Haha. It's very cute. Next skill, the fist pound.

By the way, the little guy is walking all over the place. He's still a little unsure but he's determined to get around and now he tries walking before just dropping to the floor and crawling around.

It's a good thing I was productive on Tuesday, because today was not so good. I've really got to get pictures online and off of my computer before we go on vacation. I'd also like to clean the house up.

Aidan kisses are the BEST!
Aidan is adorable, but into everything, especially now that he's walking.
I don't have enough time in my day.
Spending time with Aidan is better than getting projects done, but the projects are piling up!
I think I've got baby fever.
I can't wait to be down the shore.

Today was my first day without having to go into school to teach or for meetings and it's been wonderful. Aidan and I did some errands this morning and then he napped. I got some cleaning, bills paid, and laundry done while he was snoozing. I can finally see my kitchen table...which is a huge accomplishment. There's still a lot to tackle in the cleaning/organizing department of this house, but at least I got it started.

This cloudy weather is so gloomy. I can't wait for this weekend when our vacation in North Wildwood begins! The weather forecast looks great so far!

Summer is fabulous.
Aidan is so freaking adorable.

Aidan's walking!!!!!

Well, first of all, Happy Father's Day to the dads out there. My dad situation is quite interesting, but let's just say I've never been without love. The long and short of it...my dad (Tony) died in a tree-cutting accident when I was two and a half, my mom remarried (Tom) then divorced and remarried again (Mike). I got married and gained another dad (John). I had a baby and created a dad (Sean). All of those dads are a special part of my life. Now, onto the fun stuff......

I can't believe my little guy is walking now! Friday after I picked him up after school he walked to me without any prompting and I was shocked. It wasn't too far, maybe about 6 or 7 steps. Then on Saturday I had a bridal shower to go to and Sean sent me a video of Aidan walking across our family room with no trouble at all. Sunday he was a walking machine! He loves walking to mommy and daddy. He still doesn't mind holding our hands to walk (and we don't mind much at all either) and still uses the furniture, but he's getting much braver. Gosh, I feel like it was not that long ago that we were bringing him home from the hospital and now I've got a toddler who has 12 teeth and is walking! CRAZY!

My thoughts on life right now:
Fathers are an important part of life.
I have a walking toddler!
Time goes by way too fast!
Life will never be the same again...and hasn't since our little blessing came along.
Less than a week until a much needed vacation!

feeling crummy...

So, it never fails. At the change of almost every season I end up with a sinus infection. Luckily the last time I was at the doctor for one he gave me an extra prescription for an antibiotic just in case I were to get another. (I've had so many I can tell the difference between that and a cold) Well I started taking it today and I can't wait to start feeling better.

Only two more teaching days left this school year. Tomorrow we'll be watching a movie, writing letters to my 09-10 class, and playing some more games. I love the game Sorry however this week I have had to look at it from another perspective...that of children who don't follow directions or read the entire card or take turns correctly or congradulate the winner when you are the loser. Kids are mean these days and don't think following directions is important. Despite the rough times, it really brought a lot of my students together who didn't really socialize with others much this year. Certain social groups split up and went with my quieter students. I also had a few students who stepped up and helped a student in need. I think next year my students will play Sorry at least once a week because it can teach you a whole lot about life...
For example: don't rush-think about your actions first, take turns nicely, always congradulate someone who made out better than you-next time you might be the one appreciating the compliment, follow directions, help someone in need, be careful who you go after-it may come back to bite you in the butt, and...always take time to laugh and have a good time.

On another note, is it bad that Aidan likes to watch Wipeout with us? Is it even worse that he laughs when people fall? What exactly are we teaching this kid anyway? I think he just laughs because we laugh, but it's not good that we're laughing at the expense of these people. But, I guess that's just one of those bad human things...we laugh at other people to feel better. You have to admit, it is pretty darn funny though...especially those big balls!

poor little guy

Last night we took Aidan to the Phillies game. This is his third one of the season already and it's only June! We weren't sure how he'd be since he only napped for 40 minutes at Mom-mom's house and then another 40 minutes before we went to the game. His top molars are coming in now and seem to be giving him a runny/stuffy nose and just making him blah. I wish they came in like the bottom ones without the nose issue. Anyway, he was perfect at the game. He sat on my lap the entire time, only wanting to get down a couple of times. He really is great to take to the games. We got up once to change his diaper and then sat right back down. Usually he gets antsy and we end up standing behind our section (145) which isn't bad either. He even fell asleep around the 9th inning of a game the Phillies should have won but just couldn't get anything going.
He ended up going to bed really late and then got up early this morning. Poor little guy. He just looks pitiful. He's napping now and I hope he'll get a good one in. He could use it. And, I could use the time to be doing productive things, unlike getting on the computer. Actually, I've got a ton of zoo pictures to put online as well as pictures from the game last night. Now, hopefully I can figure out how to add them on here without any problems.

Teething sucks!
I'm a good wife for letting my husband go golfing with his friends, but we're an even better couple for having a social life, albeit a small one, with a 13 1/2 month old.
We're all happy that Pop-pop Collins is back safely from China and is home for a while.

Seriously? A blog?

What did I just get myself into? I've read all kinds of blogs...awesome blogs, sad blogs, happy blogs, tons of baby blogs, etc. I've oohed and ahhed over so many blogs that I felt like I was missing out on something by not having one. That, and well, Aidan's blog is nice but I need to upgrade so I figured I'd start small and work my way up. Plus, I need an outlet for me too, not just a place about Aidan but a place about anything that comes to mind. Sort of a "my thoughts on life right now" kind of place.

So, my thoughts on life right now...
I don't have time for a blog, but I want to make time for it.
I don't have time for a lot of things, but don't use my time wisely most days.
Facebook is addicting!
Some crappy things happen to some really great people and sometimes the timing really sucks. We all just have to have hope that dreams really do come true even if it wasn't on your timeline.
