Abby girl...

Oh Abby girl. In just two short months you'll be two years old. Mommy is in complete denial and stalling on planning your birthday party. I just can't believe it. You are so adorable and smart and we are all so very proud of you. My very favorite thing you are saying right now is "I love you too mom" after I tell you I love you. You are so interested in talking and love to repeat us, but this came spontaneously and it was marvelous. It absolutely melts my heart.

My thoughts on life right now:
I love you so very much.

Golf

Well, today I golfed my first full round of 18 holes of golf. And it was ugly. Haha. I shot a 129, and thankfully I can't remember what par is at Beckett, but it's lower than 100! But, the good news is I had a lot of fun and was in great company of Sean, Meagan, and Colby. The boys didn't do well either, so Meg and I didn't feel terrible about how poorly we played but the guys certainly did. Amazingly I had a ball skip right across the water and bounce uphill, and then shortly after that I followed up with losing a ball in a different pond. I hit a few trees along the way too. But when I'm used to playing a course as nice as Valleybrook every Wednesday night after golf lessons with the girls, shooting a 129 on a much less maintained course is to be expected (or so I keep telling myself that).

My thoughts on life right now:
Fun times today. I can imagine our foursome 20 years from now spending time golfing.

Painted Piggies!

{Piggy Paint : Forever Fancy}
{Abby is so happy!}
{Where did my baby girl go?!}
Seriously? Could Abby be any cuter? A few months ago she noticed the paint on my toenails and every time I would switch it she would say "paint. Abby. Paint toes." She so badly wanted her toes painted but I wanted to wait a bit longer until she would actually sit for it. While waiting for her to be able to sit long enough for me to do a paint job worthy of a job at a spa (according to Aidan), I came across "piggy paint" on Amazon. It's non-toxic and meant for kids, so I felt a little better about painting my almost 22 month old's nails. She sat so well and after I did her toes she begged for her fingers to be done. Absolutely adorable. Hopefully daddy thinks so too when he gets back from golfing :)

My thoughts on life right now:
I can't believe Abby is old enough for me to paint her nails!
I'm in complete denial about planning her 2nd birthday party.

Moooooo

Tonight Meagan and Colby opted out of going to the Phillies game, which meant we could go to the game as a family of four and sit comfortably. Late in the game the 2nd base umpire made a poor call that the fans booed at for a few innings. Abby began to imitate them even holding her hand up to the side of her mouth like a megaphone. As I looked and listened closer I realized her boos were actually "moos"! I couldn't help but laugh and she thought it was so silly. She continued for quite a while as did the fans. It was only a little funny when she imitated the "ump, you suck!" chants. Both she and Aidan stuck it out for the extra innings long enough to see the walk off grand slam by Mayberry Jr. They were so good at the game

My thoughts on life right now:
We're so fortunate to be able to do these things.
Feeling blessed.

2 more teeth

Well, hopefully the two canine teeth that are barely showing on Abby's upper gums are the reason behind all the whining and the lack of good sleep lately. Pretty soon she'll have a mouth full of teeth. I kiss that gummy baby grin but the giggles that come from my toothy toddler are contagious.

Happy Easter!!!

{Happy Easter!!!}
Haha. Looks pretty similar to the Santa Claus picture from Christmas, right? Apparently Abby is just not a fan of sitting on characters laps at Perfect Day Photography. She was not a happy camper at all. Aidan's a trooper though and just keeps smiling through all the song and dance we try to get Abby to smile. Oh well...makes for funny pictures.

Potty time?

Abby has been peeing on the potty inconsistently. We ask her or she will tell us after a diaper change. Or sometimes she will just say potty. We've been using the ring on our toilet but just brought out the little potty for her. Tonight during a change she said she had to go potty but I could tell she just went in the diaper. I let her try anyway. She pooped on the little potty!!! She was scared at first sight and backed away from it but then when we flushed it she thought it was funny. Whew. For a minute I worried she was traumatized. I'm so proud of her!
This does not mean I'm starting potty training though. It's sort of Abby-led at this point until after Disney.
